  • The whimsical wallpaper creates the rich background for colourful art and furniture.
  • It just worked out that the 19th Century vanity and chair happened to match the 21st Century wallpaper.
  • This wallpaper reminds me of Albert Hadley's Chinese Tea Papers in his New York apartment. It's a clarifying background for a wide range of materials...a Swedish table, a Murano Lamp, and Donald Duck!
  • Blue delivers personality to this retro-house kitchen.Note the Brazilian hardwood backspalsh.
  • Natural Linen with metallic passementerie.
  • A deep corner can be illuminated with a colourful addition. This one is from Oscar de la Renta.
  • Sometimes I just need to find the piece that completes a collection...like a Burmese Buddha to place in front of a wall-hung Chinese screen.
  • Three fabrics mixing couture, outdoor, and pleather for dining ease. The selective nailheads capture the light. In the background is a custom bench with Brazilian cowhide. The oiled wood floors were recently installed to ground the earth tones.
  • Antiques can be cosy. I paired custom upholstery with an antique neoclassic table and a vintage Murano lamp. The client discovered the lucite and brass cocktail table at the same source.
  • Paint the walls and ceiling in the same paint colour and finish to make the short room feel taller. Now, the painting and the cloud light seem to float.
  • Sometimes a client just needs a different perspective on their collection, allowing me to re-group and re-hang the art from my viewpoint.
  • The antique runner reflects in the mirror bed, but it's the drapes that dramatize. The 1950's patent leather ottoman was found online. The art is from Russell Collection.
  • Sometimes sheers do more than just filter light.
  • Barry Dixon's fabric for Vervain revives a gem from the historic {quote}Hangover House{quote} of Laguna Beach, 1937.
  • The offbeat placement of the antique French doors beyond an exquisite chandelier induces the lofty to operatic.
  • Gothic details on this find from Negrel Antiques adds the depth of hand-workmanship to the room.
  • Adding a wall of bookcases around the little den, created storage and character.
  • It seemed appropriate to use the last yard of a Larry Lazlo fabric on the overflow antiique dining chair. Sure there's only one, but it's a showstopper.
  • Dark tones are glamourous too...
  • A new stairwell, but instant character with classic details and lots of family history.
  • A custom linen bed and a scrolled marble-topped table to hold grandmother's lamp...cosy.
  • Sometimes, it just works out that multiple vendors have the look in stock.
  • Curating a large collection is an opportunity in perspective.
  • Showcase family photographs in narrow passage ways, allowing the eyes to focus on small details. On the little table, rotate a photo of corresponding seasons or holidays.
  • Textures on the bed glimmer with the wallpaper in the changing light.
  • The dining room has high windows more indicative of a cellar, so we made it the media room. The layered ceiling was always there, just invisible until now.
  • The abbreviated metal sheer filters the bright sun in the day; yet at night, appears solid and glimmers with interior light. The polished steel crystal ball & claw rod is modern and classic. The print was picked up at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
  • Tones of mahogany from rustic to refined suffuse the guest room with tranquility.
  • Layers of compelling and dissimilar patterns for this master bedroom.
  • When your finest piece of art is the smallest in the room, and the bold colour and style needs context...
