Escala

This multi-year project started with architectural enhancements through construction and materials selection to furnishings. Client collaboration enhanced the process.

  • The addition of blue glass in the the archway creates a dramatic yet reflective backdrop.
  • The Entry Hall as drawn featured simple arches. I upgraded the look to mission arches, imagining that globe chandelier floating right through the top.
  • A classic floor pattern enriched with polished and honed travertine, porcelain grids, and pinto limestone accents.
  • I sketched up the custom door to set the tone for movement. This is the client's favourite view in the house.
  • This fireplace was designed to divert the eyes from that 60{quote} screen.
  • All arches lead to the fireplace wall.
  • Two islands topped with titanium granite, surrounded with custom white travertine...yet the eye still focuses on the vent we designed with Texas Lightsmith.
  • The shelves were an impromptu thought from the builder, and what a great idea, so we mad the last shelf just reach under the hood.
  • Layers of white in the travertine floors, the painted cabinetry, the granite counters, and the grasscloth backsplash tiles.
  • A regular doorway was redefined with a wall of glass from Portella. The archway thresholds are accented with pewter.
  • The arch from the entry is repeated at the bar. This is opposite the glass door in the previous snap. It's a great view either way you look.
  • The walls are lined with wine-stained staves and the backsplash is from SICIS...it's all about the materials.
